2026 ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY PROJECT
With an estimated 300-600K of unexpectedly unemployed Black women, Womxnist Liberation Cooperative seeks to address the growing need for economic sustainability for Black women and gender expansive folx who have been pushed out of traditional workplaces due to racism, sexism/cissexism, and capitalism. This summer, our cooperative will be launching a documentation and solidarity economy project which captures the stories of Black women impacted by recent political shifts.

Following this Summer's research, our organization will be able to provide hard data to prove the viability of our cooperative business model which would (1) provide the infrastructure for many of the program participants to work for themselves with ample resources, (2) introduce anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-capitalist alternatives via our Solidarity Economy networks, and (3) offer a thriving online community for ongoing collective care, resource-sharing, and support.
